Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) says:

“The likeness between me and other Prophets (a.s.) is like that of a man who constructs a house and completes it in all respects but leaves the place for just one brick in it. Anyone who enters this house praises it and appreciates it’s architectural beauty but for one brick. Know that I am the last brick in the wonderful building of Prophethood. After me, this series (of Prophethood) will come to an end.”

Covenant from other prophets

In The Name of Allah The Most Beneficent The Most Merciful

Ameerul Momeneen Ali Ibne Abi Talib (a.s.) says,
“Allah did not raise any Prophet- from Adam (a.s.) and all who came after him- but that He took a covenant from him that if this Prophet was alive and the Holy Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) was appointed, he should believe in and support him. And they (Prophets) were also commanded to take a similar pledge from their nation and people.”

(Tafseer-e-Tabari, v.3, p. 236; Tafseer-e-Ibn Katheer, v.1, p.378; Tafseer al-Durr al-Manthoor;
Tafseer-e-Qurtubi, v.4, p.125; Tafseer-e-Kabeer, v.8, p.155 narrating from Awaamel-e-Tahreef, v.4, p.15)

Allah the Almighty took an oath from the Prophets (a.s.) that they should inform their nations and communities of the appointment and elevated status of the Holy Prophet (s.a.) and should command them that if they survive till his advent, they should provide testimony for his prophethood.

Then from the same Noor He created 12 veils, that is, the veil of Power (Qudrat), the veil of Greatness (Azmat), the veil of Grace (Minnat), the veil of Mercy (Rahmat), the veil of Bliss (Saadat), the veil of Wonder (Karamat), the veil of Status (Manzilat), the veil of Guidance (Hidayat), the veil of Prophethood (Nubuwwat), the veil of Loftiness (Rafat), the veil of Awe (Haibat), and veil of Intercession (Shafat). He kept this holy light in the veils of Might for twelve thousand years. It was reciting, “Glory to the Lord, the Almighty Allah,” therein.
Then He kept it in the veil of Power for 11000 years
